Hello readers!
This winter we started class with a whole new group of 7th and 8th Grade students. Students began the semester in their Foods & Nutrition Unit, learning about the macronutrients and healthy food choices. 7th Grade kicked off their cooking experience by making homemade granola bars while 8th Grade started with cheese pizza with made-from-scratch pizza dough. 8th Grade is also working hard on creating our Digital Cookbook page with student-chosen recipes that are appealing to teens. If you have time to check it out, click on the "Digital Cookbook" text on the left side of our website. Both grades will wrap up their units with a final cooking project - 7th Graders are challenged to find snacks with protein and complex carbohydrates that are low in sugar. 8th Graders will be choosing a recipe from their Digital Cookbook to make and review for you. Stay tuned for more!
