The past couple of weeks in Consumer Family Studies we started a class project. The unit we are in is textiles and the project we chose to do was make pet beds and pet toys to donate to Weld County Humane Society. The Weld County Humane Society is in need of pet objects, so we decided to make them and donate them. The objects we are making are stuffed dog beds, cat beds made from old sweaters and different types of dog toys. After these are made, we are going to donate it to the humane society. We are also taking donations to donate.
The first project that a group is making is dog beds. These dog beds are made from blankets that are knotted together and stuffing. The group unties some of the knots and stuffs it with stuffing. Then they retire the knots and the beds are done. It's very easy. Another group group is doing cat beds. These cat beds are made from old sweatshirts and stuffing. These are also easy to create.
Two groups are making dog toys but they are made differently. One group is making them out of old t-shirts. The other group is making them out of paracord. These two fun and easy-to-make chewtoys are perfect for dogs to play with. Every group is making as many of their creations as they can to be able to donate. The more that is made, the better the animals will feel to be able to use our donations. The Weld County Humane Society will greatly appreciate it.
